It's Senior NIGHT. Not Senior KNIGHT.

The Charger wrestlers gave Kaden Gfeller, the lone Senior on the squad, a great sendoff in his final home wrestling competition with a 59-0 shutout of the visiting Crossings Knights. Cruz Aguilar got the night started off right with a 16-1 technical fall, wrestling's equivalent to baseball's "run rule," and then the Chargers pinned 8 Knights in a row for the impressive victory. Gfeller won his 104th match in a row to keeps his bid for an undefeated career and 4th State Championship alive.

Coach Floyd Lorne reflected, "The Crossings dual was a classic Charger wrestling. Six years ago, we were only able to put three wrestlers on the mat for competition and now we are strong enough to fill nine of 13 spots in our lineup and win duals. It showed our wrestlers how powerful they can be when everyone wrestles with like minds. Kaden's ambition to grow as a wrestler has transformed the mentality of our program. He sets the standard for work-ethic, setting high goals, and and completing tasks. He's every coaches dream athlete. Kaden has never been content with mediocrity so his adversities are short-lived. We have complete faith that he'll excel at Oklahoma State and hopefully we will see him on top of the Olympic platform in 2020."
