Most Recent Matchup:
In the 2016 season, Heritage Hall travelled to Elgin to take on the Owls. The Chargers got off to a hot start and never looked back. The Hall offense scored at will in the first half, including a 37 yard touchdown pass from Blake Adams, and held a 28-0 lead in the middle of the second. The Charger defense was strong all game, however, Elgin was able to find the end zone just before the half to cut the Charger lead to 28-7. Both squads played tough on defense throughout the third, as the score remained the same until the final quarter. This changed quickly when Adams got the Hall rolling again with another long touchdown pass, this time from 70 yards out. Adams finished the game with 234 passing yards and two touchdowns, completing 11 of his 17 attempts. Elgin scored one more time in fourth, but it was too little too late, with the horn sounding before the Owls could get any real momentum going on a comeback bid. The Chargers won by a score of 35-13 and moved to 7-0 on the 2016 season.

Player Spotlight:
Elgin's star player is, without doubt, running back Lewis Sheperd. The senior has played exceptional so far this season for the Owls. Sheperd has some special athletic ability and has single handedly led his offense to consistent success throughout the year, rushing for 314 yards and 7 touchdowns last week against Newcastle, a victory in which the Owls scored 75 points. Charger offensive lineman Jack Griffin, along with many other players and coaches on the staff, believe Sheperd is the second best running back the team has faced all season, behind John Marshall's Devonte Lee, who has recently committed to play at the University of Nevada. Elgin also has a strong core of veterans returning from last year's squad, including wide receiver Landon Brewer, tight end Pepper Ferrell, and fullback Jonathan Brown who all combined for 84 total yards in last year's matchup against the Chargers.

Outlook:
Heritage Hall will look to stay undefeated (6-0) and extend their winning streak on the season to seven. The Chargers put together a strong team effort last week at Chickasha, downing the Fighting Chicks by a score 42-14. The Hall was on point on both sides of the ball from the start, taking a commanding 42-0 into the halftime break. Blake Adams threw for an astounding five touchdowns on the game, while Billy Ross, Jr., and Morgan Dinwiddie provided the ground punch. The two backs combined for 172 yards and a touchdown on just 11 carries. However, Chander Shapard outshined any of his teammates last Friday, receiving three touchdowns all in the first half. The Charger defense dominated yet again, this time led by Zane Wade, who recorded three sacks and an interception in the game. The Hall's early success allowed many of the Chargers' key players to rest for much of the second half. The team should be well rested heading and ready to go heading into this Friday's battle with the Owls, who will no doubt be ready to play against a program with the pedigree of Heritage Hall. The much-needed rest from the Chickasha rout could be key for the Chargers, as the defense will need to be ready to play against the Owls, who have the ability to score points in a hurry.
