Volleyball places 4th at Conference, piles up honors
Coach
Dana Schwab '07 has the Chargers heating up at just the right time of year. After concluding the regular season with a 3-0 sweep of Crossings on Senior Night, the girls played well against a strong field to capture 4th place at the 2020 Chisholm Trail Conference Tournament and rake in some individual honors as icing on the cake.
The girls started things off with a bang in a thrilling 2-1 victory over 5A #1-ranked Mount St. Mary (28-6 record). The Chargers then dropped a close one to Christian Heritage, 1-2 before closing out Friday with a 2-1 win over Newcastle. On Saturday, the Chargers lost to 3A #2 Community Christian 2-0, fell short against 3A #6 OCS 2-0, and then swept 4A #14 Crossings 2-0 to round out tournament play.
Mount Saint Mary rallied from the opening loss to Heritage Hall to take the Conference Championship, while 3A #2 Community Christian finished 2nd place, 4A #6 Christian Heritage Academy took third, and the Chargers finished in 4th place.Â
Multiple Heritage Hall players were awarded individual Conference or Tournament Honors:
1st Team All Conference:Â Daphne Matthews '21
2nd Team All Conference: Dominique Matthews '23,
Katie Koch '22
All Tournament Team:Â Gracie Shapard '22,

All Conference Coach of the Year: Dana Schwab '07
Currently holding a 15-12 record and a #5 ranking in Class 3A, the Chargers earned the right to host the Regional Tournament at the McClendon Athletic Center on Thursday, October 1. Teams that will be traveling to The Hall include the #12 Erick Bearcats, the Tipton Tigers, and the Snyder Cyclones. Erick and Tipton will open the Tournament at 1:30pm, with the Chargers and Cyclones set to square off at 3:30pm. Winners will advance to the 5:30 Championship match.
Onward, Chargers!
