Heritage Hall women's basketball took on Ardmore and Carl Albert at the Carl Albert Festival. Heading into the two-night event, the Lady Chargers knew they had some tough competition ahead. The Hall started off the 2021-2022 season with a strong comeback win against the scrappy Millwood Falcons, so they had some momentum.

The Lady Chargers faced the Class 5A #9 Ardmore Tigers in the first game of the Carl Albert Festival, played on Thursday. Head Coach Parker Cassell's team knew they were the underdogs, but relished that role. They struggled to shut down the Lady Tigers scoring, but did pretty well with 37 points of their own. That total wasn't enough to get the win as Ardmore took out The Hall 47-37. Senior Willow Grimmett scored 11 points, grabbed 9 rebounds, and blocked 4 shots in the contest. Freshman point guard Reagan Fowler scored 12 points, dishing out 3 assists, and making two steals.

The next day the Lady Chargers faced an even tougher challenge in Class 5A #2 Carl Albert. The Lady Titans had a very dominant offense that put up 69 points on Heritage Hall. The Hall's defense was lacking, but the offense was playing decent and scored 30 points against Carl Albert. Although a 69-30 loss wasn't what the Lady Chargers hoped for, they gained valuable experience and learned a lot that should help them build toward more success as the season continues. Fowler scored 9 to go with 5 rebounds, while fellow freshman Marly Moore scored 8.

The Lady Chargers will close out the first semester with a road trip to Community Christian, followed by a weekend tournament at the Norman private school.
