Heritage Hall was ready for what had become the District Championship game against Marlow. The Chargers traveled to Marlow to face a hostile crowd in what was set to be a good game.

Both teams started off slow and there was no scoring in the first quarter of this game.

In the second quarter, senior running back River Faulkner put the Chargers on the board with a 6-yard run for a 7-0 lead. The Charger defense was able to get a stop and put the ball back in the offense's hands. The Hall drove the field to get into position for sophomore Cal Welker to boot in a 29-yard field goal right before the end of the half. The Chargers were able to hold the Outlaws to a scoreless half and take a 10-0 lead at the break.

The Charger's offense really stepped it up in the second half and the defense stayed dominant until the final buzzer. Faulkner put another 7 points on the board for the Chargers with a 2-yard touchdown run.

The defense continued to hold the Outlaws scoreless and gave the offense many chances to score. The Chargers closed out the third quarter with a rushing touchdown from junior quarterback Andy Bass to stretch the lead to 24-0.

The fourth quarter featured more of the same dominant football by the Chargers, who opened up with another touchdown run from Andy Bass. The Charger offense continued to put points on the board and take time off the clock.
The defense would finally break late in the contest, with the Outlaws getting in the end zone to bring the final score to 31-7.

Offensively, Bass and Faulkner each rushed for over 100 yards and two scores. Bass was equally damaging when airing the ball out, completing 20 of 33 pass attempts for 190 yards. Liam Burton snagged 10 catches for 70 yards to lead the receivers.

Senior linebackers Cooper Cookson (11 tackles) and Zach Fetrow (9 tackles) would lead the Charger defense. Jordyn Harris almost returned an interception for a touchdown.

In the special teams, Welker took over extra point and field goal duties for Carter Counts. He was perfect on four extra point tries and knocked in the 29 yard field goal. With a fresh leg, Counts was able to launch all 6 kickoffs into the end zone for touchbacks on the night.

The Chargers now look forward to Anadarko for their round-one matchup in the playoffs. The Warriors come into the playoffs with a record of 4-6, but are still a very good team and are looking forward to giving the Chargers a challenge.
