All that was left to do for a Grand Finale to Homecoming Week was win a football game and dance the night away under the Big Top. As the first quarter unfolded, it appeared the Chargers might be looking ahead to the dance.

Having grown accustomed to their team putting up points early and often, Charger fans waited patiently for the game's first touchdown, which came at the 2-minute mark when Blake Adams found Brady Ballard on a 17 yard touchdown toss. And with, that the Chargers found their groove.

Minutes into the second quarter, Adams connected with his top target, Santana Randle, on a 37-yard touchdown play.  The Junior quarterback converted 17 of 29 passes on the night for 214 yards and 2 touchdowns. Randle grabbed a team-high 9 passes for a total of 113 yards in the contest.

With a 14-0 lead, Coach Brett Bogert turned to the ground game. Billy Ross, Jr., was the first to rush his way into the end zone on a 21-yarder with about three minutes until half, but the extra point missed. Callahan Walker made up for the off-target PAT minutes later, drilling a 21-yard field goal just before the half that gave Heritage Hall a 23-0 lead at the midway point.

Newcastle's Nathan Mudd broke a 41-yard touchdown run to make it 23-7 early in the 3rd quarter, but the Chargers responded with 14 unanswered points to close outrace the Racers, 37-7. The win was the program's 35th straight. Waiting for the Chargers next week are the Cache Bulldogs.

But, for now at least, we dance.
