Gabe hails from a family rich in athletic talent, and his versatility on the baseball field is evident in the Charger record book.  He was named to the Little All-City team in 1990 for good reason. A tremendous shortstop who hit for a .525 average during the ‘90 season (2nd highest on record), he also was an outstanding pitcher, striking out 95 batters that season (2nd all-time) and 193 batters for his career (2nd all-time).  His career batting average of .414 is also 2nd in the Charger record book.
